About the Event
Organized by the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Class of 2028, the Boston College community will come together on April 26, 2026 for a walk‑a‑thon benefitting Catholic Charities Boston's Refugee and Immigrant Services.
Funds raised will provide immigrant and refugee families with access to legal advocacy, ESOL classes, housing and food assistance, and workforce development programs. Every step we take and every donation we raise brings hope to our neighbors in need!

About Catholic Charities Boston
Catholic Charities Boston's Refugee and Immigrant Services program has served tens of thousands of newcomers since 1903. Through compassionate, professional services, they help individuals and families build stable, dignified, and self-sufficient lives in their new home.
How Your Donations HelpCatholic Charities Boston provides immigrants and refugees with access to qualified immigration attorneys and legal advocates who help navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system. Services include assistance with green cards, citizenship applications, asylum cases, and protection from deportation.Language is the key to opportunity. ESOL classes help immigrants and refugees learn English so they can communicate at work, help their children with school, engage with their communities, and build better lives. Classes are offered at multiple levels to meet learners where they are.Many newly arrived families face immediate challenges finding safe and affordable housing. Catholic Charities Boston connects families with housing resources, rental assistance, emergency shelter referrals, and food pantry services to ensure that no family goes without basic necessities.Employment is a critical step toward self-sufficiency. Workforce development programs offer resume workshops, job placement assistance, vocational training, and connections to local employers who are committed to hiring immigrants and refugees with skills and determination to succeed.

The event will take place at Stokes Lawn located on the Boston College Main Campus. It will start at 2pm and last until 4pm.The Walk-a-Thon will proceed rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, we will communicate any changes to registered participants via email.
